Thank you Karen. The more I think about it the more I feel I will lose it all. I've already booked and paid for his Summer holiday respite which is every Wednesday in August. I've used the money I already have in the account but who knows if they will ask for it back!

I understand the council are short of money and its not a bottomless pit its just we can never get a break alone without respite payments and the lovely carers from the local carers charity are so trustworthy and efficient. We hardly get a look in with the grandparents they don't go out of their way to accommadate our children....Dan cannot switch off at night but they leave him in the dark from 9 o/c and he is unhappy and restless. This keeps the others awake. At home he is allowed to read his beanos and books or play on a DS for awhile or watch a dvd. That way he is not up to mischief. Nanny won't have it. So I don't like to leave them.

Thanks for your good wishes

Hi Elizabeth
I do hope you find someone very soon, I can understand how hard it must be, there is so much to consider, then this respite, there are so many being hit by these cuts, god knows were it will end.
Anyway I have my fingers crossed for you xx

Wow good news.

I received a letter this morning saying I have had my 5 hours p.w reinstated. I am really surprised. So I can book a carer and get a few days out and pay for summer respite (well I've already paid so now I won't need to pay it back to the council and all the hassle that would have caused with the summer autism group)

E, I am so pleased for you. What a lovely surprise. At the end of the day, you should have been left with it in the first place. But all sorted now.

Thats far too sensible Karen! Actually they never told me it was stopping in the first place they just stopped paying in the cheques and so there was a delay before I even realised.
